At its August 14th meeting, Flint, Michigan’s City Council approved developer Ashley Capital’s brownfield redevelopment plan for 273 acres at the historic former Buick City site near I-475, I-69, and I-75 in Flint, Michigan. Ashley plans to create Flint Commerce Center there, which, when complete, will offer up to 3,500,000 square feet of Class A industrial space to tenants serving the region. Ashley anticipates that the park will revitalize the site that has been dormant for over a decade and help create thousands of jobs for the surrounding community.
Ashley is very familiar with the location, having broken ground there in June on Flint Commerce Center 1, a 330,000 SF facility on 20 acres that it purchased in March 2023. Completion is expected in the first quarter of 2024.
