Biography
Mark Quimby is a Vice President at Ashley Capital. He leads projects from the pre-development phase through construction and serves as the firm’s in-house environmental risk expert. With more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of real estate development and environmental consulting, he specializes in construction on contaminated land, integrating remediation, engineering, incentives, and development strategies to reduce risk and cost. He excels at diagnosing problems across multiple disciplines, leading teams to craft pragmatic solutions, and ensuring those solutions are implemented effectively. Mark has led redevelopment projects representing hundreds of millions of dollars in investment, including former manufacturing plants, landfills, junkyards, dry cleaners, and petroleum facilities.
Before Ashley Capital, Mark was Due Diligence and Remediation Manager at Amazon.com, where he evaluated and addressed environmental risk across the company’s global property portfolio. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Consultant with SME, a midwestern engineering consulting firm, where he was the senior technical lead for environmental assessment, remediation, and redevelopment projects.
In addition to his work with Ashley Capital, Mark serves as Chair of the Canton Township Zoning Board of Appeals and contributes to policy development and industry standards through national committees on vapor intrusion mitigation systems and state-level groups shaping statutory amendments to cleanup laws. He holds a B.Sc. in Physics.
